OneBlade GENESIS:  The Original Luxury Razor

Form Meets Function. The Genesis Single-Blade Safety Razor blends old-world single-blade shaving with modern technology and a fresh aesthetic, redefining the art of shaving.  It delivers a close, clean shave — without the irritation, without the recurring cost, and without the learning curve most single-blade razors come with.

Stainless Steel Construction. Crafted from 100% German stainless steel and then coated in a military grade PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), a vacuum coating process where solid metals are vaporized into plasma and deposited atom-by-atom onto the razor. No plastic. No cartridges. No compromises.

Precision-machined to ±0.05mm tolerance. The kind of engineering precision normally reserved for surgical instruments and aerospace components — applied to your morning routine.

Hand Assembled. Each Genesis Razor is meticulously hand-assembled and polished to give proper attention to the details invested in its creation.

Individually Numbered. A unique serial number is carved into the back of the head, reflecting the razor's individuality.

Patented Pivoting Head. This is what separates OneBlades from every other safety razor on the market. The head pivots automatically to follow the contours of your face — your jaw, your chin, under your nose — without you having to think about blade angle. You just shave.

Over $1 million invested in R&D. The pivot isn't a gimmick. It's the result of years of testing and prototyping.

One Blade. Zero Irritation.
Dermatologists have been saying it for years: single-blade razors are better for sensitive skin. Fewer blades means fewer passes over the skin, less drag, and no hysteresis — the phenomenon where multi-blade cartridges lift hair before cutting it, causing it to retract below the skin surface and create ingrown hairs.

We created Genesis around this principle.

  • No more razor burn.
  • No more ingrown hairs.
  • No more redness that lingers all day.

And because the pivoting head holds the optimal blade angle automatically, there's no guesswork. The razor does the work. You just guide it.

"It's like the best of both shaving worlds. I get the closeness of a traditional single blade with none of the guesswork. My Gillette Fusion has been gathering dust in my medicine cabinet ever since."

The Learning Curve Myth

The Easiest Safety Razor You'll Ever Learn to Use.
Most people hesitate to switch from cartridges to a safety razor because they've heard it's hard. That you need to obsess over blade angle. That there's a months-long learning curve.

That's true — for traditional safety razors. Not for Genesis.

The patented pivot solves the angle problem entirely. The head automatically adjusts as it moves across your face, so you're never fighting the geometry. The only real adjustment: use lighter pressure than you're used to. Most users are comfortable within 3–5 shaves.

What you'll notice immediately:

  • The razor feels substantial. Heavy.  Solid. Purposeful.
  • The blade loads with a click — no unscrewing, no assembly, no blade handling.
  • The first pass feels different. Quieter. More contact, less drag.

By shave three, most customers describe it as the best shave of their life.

"It took a few shaves to get used to. By the fifth shave on the first blade, I've achieved smooth shaves each time. Once you have the correct angle and apply the right amount of pressure, you can complete three passes in no time."

" It has become my favorite, most-used razor. I like the OneBlade so much that I could practically be a brand ambassador for them."
— Mantic59 - Sharpologist

A $300 Razor - Are You Crazy?

$300 Today. But Nothing for Years.
Genesis starts at $300.  We get it, that's a lot of money for a razor and certainly not for everyone.  It's for the most discerning of shavers.  The man who appreciates craftsmanship and the finer things in life.  The man who will settle for nothing less than what Cool Materials dubbed "The Best Razor on Earth. Period."

"OneBlade is purely for the guy who wants the perfect shave and doesn't care how much it costs. He wants a completely new shave experience, and he's willing to pay for it."
— Business Insider

That said, when you buy a Genesis, it is a one-time purchase. The razor itself has been built to last a lifetime — and backed our lifetime warranty.

And depending on how often and how much of your face you shave, your blade cost going forward is a fraction of what you're spending now.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      • The Genesis is designed to handle OneBlade's two proprietary single-edge blades: the Feather FHS Hi-Stainless blade (10 blades included with your purchase) and our newer OneBlade HiCarbon SE blade. Standard double-edge blades are not compatible. The Feather blades are sharper and can provide a smoother first pass shave. The HiCarbon SE blade tends to last longer — typically 4–5 shaves per blade — and is the blade most customers stick with long-term.

      • The Element and Genesis share the same patented pivoting head technology and Active Floating Blade System — so the shave quality is nearly identical. The difference is in materials and construction. The Genesis uses solid German stainless steel throughout and is made with 50+ individual steps, many by hand. The Element uses an anodized aluminum handle and a matte chrome zinc alloy head, which brings the price down significantly while preserving the core shave performance. If you want to try OneBlade before committing to the Genesis, Element is the right starting point.

      • The HiCarbon SE blade — coated in Chromium and PTFE — lasts on average around 4–5 shaves for most users, though some report up to 10 shaves depending on beard thickness. The Feather FHS blade (included with Genesis) typically lasts ~3 shaves. You'll feel the blade begin to tug when it's time to change.

      • Yes — it's specifically engineered for the transition from cartridge razors. The patented pivoting head holds the blade at the optimal angle automatically, so you don't have to think about blade angle the way you do with traditional safety razors. The main adjustment is learning to use lighter pressure than you're used to with a cartridge. Most new users are comfortable within 3–5 shaves.

      • Yes. The pivoting head makes it particularly well-suited for head shaving — it naturally adapts to contours that a fixed-head razor would struggle with. Many customers use it for both face and head. Use the same technique: light pressure, let the pivot do the work. For other areas... You can but you're probably better off using an electric razor (the only thing they're good for).

      • Genesis uses our quick-load blade system — no unscrewing or disassembling required. Simply unwrap your blade. Hold it facing the rear of the head and then slide it in until it snaps into place with an audible (and surprisingly satisfying) click. To remove a spent blade, simply grip the exposed flat end of the blade and pull it back out through the rear and dispose of it safely. The system is designed to minimize contact with the blade edge during changes.

      • Genesis is currently available in Silver and Gunmetal (dark grey). We also offer two premium finishes 24k Rose Gold and 18k gold. Sign up for the OneBlade email list to be notified when new colors or limited editions become available.

      • OneBlade covers the Genesis with a lifetime warranty — what we call the Forever Warranty. If anything goes wrong with the razor, OneBlade will make it right. This applies to the original purchaser and is part of our philosophy that a quality razor should last decades, not months. Of course, improper use can void the warranty. Keep in mind that our warranty does not ensure the razor color or coating or finish will continue to maintain its original appearance or condition. The warranty doesn't cover basic scratches or damage due to dropping or misuse of the razor. Full details here.

      • All three are single-edge metallic safety razors, but they take different engineering approaches. Henson uses a fixed head, meaning blade angle is entirely up to the user. While Supply uses a pivoting head, the blade is still locked in and doesn't automatically adjust to your face's contours like the Genesis. Genesis is more forgiving and has an easier learning curve. The Genesis costs significantly more because it is forged from the highest quality German stainless steel. Once you hold a Genesis, you get it. If price is a big deal to you, check out our Element which still has our pivoting head and an all-metal body but is priced in line with Supply and Henson.

      • We get it, it could happen. Unlikely, but possible. And it's why OneBlade offers a 60-day risk-free return policy on the Genesis. If you're not satisfied, or if you don't feel the shave it up to par, return it for a full refund — no questions asked. Given the lifetime warranty and the return window, there's no financial risk to trying it other than a small shipping fee to send it back to us.

      • It depends on how much of your face or body you shave and how often. Basically, with Genesis, you're paying significantly more for the handle upfront than you would with a cartridge razor. But keep in mind, that's a one-time purchase. This is your LAST razor. Ongoing costs make Genesis surprisingly more cost effective over time. Replacement blades are just $.40 per blade while cartridges costs over $4. You can use our Shave Cost Calculator to see exactly how much you can save.

      • The Genesis will work to shave legs and other body parts. But check out The Dawn which was designed exclusively for a woman's legs. It has a longer, contoured handle which was designed to make it easier to grip while moving along a much longer body part like a leg.
